The diagnosis is an organizing aid, not a decision on eligibility, fund sufficiency, document validity, or approval probability.
Financial sponsorship (経費支弁) is where facts, judgment, and official requirements are easily blurred. The balance is only one part: you must also separate the original issuer, the need for notarization or authentication, the accepted translation format, and the funding trail. This workbench uses only the sponsorship facts you explicitly confirm for this run to organize those four lines and create working drafts of the 経費支弁書 and 支弁理由書. Missing facts stay as fill-ins; school and immigration requirements still return to official sources.
Parents, a relative, yourself, a supporter in Japan, or a scholarship mix — the sponsor type sets the skeleton of the whole file. For non-parent sponsors, why this person pays is itself something to prove.
Review weighs balance + income continuity + how the funds formed, not one certificate. A large transfer right before submission is the hardest to explain — let funds settle early.
Salaried, sole proprietor, business owner, employed in Japan — each maps to a different proof set (employment / tax / business / taxation certificates). Business owners most often miss the business documents.
A verbal "my uncle will pay" is not a document. For non-parent sponsors, the kinship certificate and the sponsorship rationale come first — and often can only be issued back home.
Notarization attests the document; an apostille certifies only the last seal and signature; translation is yet another line with per-school rules. "Notarize everything first" is the classic way to waste money.
The longest lead isn't the notary window — it's fund settling and documents only the original issuer can produce (hometown registries, alma-mater records). Fixing these after leaving China costs double.
